Aquariums
Made of glass or acrylic plastic. Acrylic is more expensive but stronger, less likely to break, and usually lasts many years longer than a glass aquarium.

Acrylic is slightly clearer than glass and a better insulator, so the aquarium requires less electricity.

Aquarium Heaters
Most marine aquariums are heated with an electric aquarium heater rated at about 5-watts per gallon of water in the aquarium.

So for example, a 30-gallon aquarium usually needs a 150-watt heater.

Power Head with Sweeper

Comments
Eighty percent of fish species live in saltwater environments. The phenomenal diversity of life in the oceans is reproduced and enjoyed in saltwater aquariums.

Although more difficult and costlier to maintain than freshwater aquariums, the great multitude of life forms, and the unique behaviors of saltwater fish create unique marine and reef aquariums.
