Also called SAE.

Scientific name: Crossocheilus atrilimes. Note that C. siamensis is now known to be invalid for this species.
Important: We see other online suppliers selling this species at 1/2" long and calling 2" fish Jumbos. But when less than 1" long, these fish are babies that will not ship well. They grow to be about 5" long, so it's a gross exaggeration to call one that's 2" long a Jumbo.
Yikes, we just checked and now they recommend feeding this fish twice a week, which is terrible advice, and may be why they call a 2" Siamese Algae Eater (that's probably stunted) is a "Jumbo".
This site has accurate advice based on the BaileyBros 95-years of experience.
These are schooling fish, but one will usually do well living without others in the same aquarium.
This is a wonderful aquarium fish! Highly recommended.

There is lots of foolish nonsense on the internet that this fish does not eat algae, but they have sucker mouths and live in streams with fast flowing water, where they suck onto rocks and eat algae and whatever else is in the slime growing on the rocks.
We see them eating algae off of ornaments, plants, and rocks everyday, as you can see in
the pictures to the left. However they love to munch on premium fish foods.

Our Pictures

This website has lots of pictures of the fish that we offer for sale. Will the fish you get look like the fish in our pictures?

No! This is like buying a kitten or a puppy, that will change as it grows and matures.

Click here to read more about our fish.

We stock and ship fish that are the ideal size to ship.

Not so small that they will not do well when shipped.

Yet not so big that they will have trouble adjusting to a new home.

The fish in almost all of our pictures were young fish like the ones we ship that we raised up, and you can too!
