We've got about 300-aquariums with freshwater fish. Freddie, Bruce, Nevin, and even Tom pick out some of the best to list here !

Green Terror Cichlids

25 February 2013
Green Terror Cichlid
This fish's ancestors lived in freshwater streams and rivers along the coast of Ecuador and Peru in South America, but like most aquarium fish it was raised on a fish farm.

It's inexpensive, gorgeous, very hardy, very energetic and active. So far they haven't really caused trouble in our aquariums, but as many cichlid species mature and grow large, they can become aggressive and cause trouble. Even so, many aquarists think they're worth it!

We feed them premium flake foods, when they're small, and premium pellet foods, when they grow larger.

Singapore Shrimp

25 February 2013
Singapore Shrimp
These Singapore Shrimp are a favorite of many aquarists. They're also called Wood Shrimp, Bamboo Shrimp, and Flower Shrimp.

This one was perched on a plant just under the aquarium filter, where the water was moving fastest, and it held out its fan-like hands to strain-out tiny bits of food, which it then put in it's mouth. Fun to watch!

They can grow to be almost 5" long, which is a nice size for lots of aquariums. Being filter feeders, they're harmless to fish, but Loaches, Pufferfish, and large fish may eat them.

Crystal Barb Male

23 February 2013
Male Red Crystal Barb
This is one of our favorite aquarium fish !! Mature males, like the one shown above, are ... well really incredible!! This one lives in DrTom's 29-gallon aquarium, where this picture was taken.

Here at AquariumFish.net we don't have any males like this one to ship to you right now, but you can raise them up just like DrTom did.

Sumo Loach at AquariumFish.net

23 February 2013
Sumo Loach
This is not a common Aquarium Fish, but we stock both popular aquarium fish and fish like this one that should be popular.

This fish is more elongated than the picture shows. We like its long slim shape and its pink coloration with dark markings. By the way can you see the lipstick mark on his cheek?  ;^ }

This Sumo does not hide and is very interesting to watch, as it hops around the bottom, usually stopping on top of a rock. It seems to prefer rocks that are right under the water fall from the filter, where the water is highly aerated.

We feed our Sumo Loaches premium flake and pellet foods, which they like to eat. This is a hardy, energetic, and highly recommended aquarium fish!

Blind Cave Tetra

23 February 2013
Blind Cave Tetra
This species is an long time aquarium favorite that seems to be less common these days, but it's still a very good aquarium fish.

This fish's ancestors lived deep in caves in Mexico, where there is no light and no need for eyes. Even so these fish have sensory organs, and they are very good at not bumping into rocks and the sides of the aquarium.

They're also able to find food and are quite a hardy aquarium fish that are lots of fun to watch.

Fancy Guppies

22 February 2013
Green Cobra Guppy
Our fish buyer made a special trip to look for new fish and found these Guppies. We've got a lot of them now, and they're our current favorite Guppy. The cobra pattern on their bodies is the best we've ever seen. We're wondering if they should be called Gold Cobras, but whatever the name, you can see they're beautiful. They're also very healthy and energetic, which is important to us.

Denison's Red Torpedo Barb

22 February 2013
Red Torpedo Barb
These Red Torpedo Barbs can grow to be about 6" long but remain slender, so they're a nice size fish for aquariums with 50-gallons of water and more. This is a highly recommended aquarium fish!

Oh No! we still see this fish offered elsewhere on the internet for $39.99.  Another site brags about their price at $19.99, and guarantees that's the lowest price on the internet, which is not true!  ;^ }

Pencilfish

22 February 2013
Golden Pencilfish
This fish has many relatives living in the Amazon Rainforest. Some people seem to think Pencilfishes are delicate, but these guys are very hardy and very energetic. A golden stripe glistens just above the black stripe, as you can see in the picture just above.

Golden Pencilfish have been spawned many times in aquariums. In an aquarium with live plants they seem more likely to spawn especially when fed premium fish food flakes. Highly recommended.

The Goldfish shown just above is a Fantastic Fantail, and we also sell Orandas, Telescope Butterflies, Pearlscales, Bubble Eyes, Lionheads, and many more types of Fancy Goldfish.

Looking at our Goldfish, like the one shown in the picture just above, brings to mind a comment that a customer sent to us, "There is nowhere else with fish like the fish on AquariumFish.net !"

Dalmatian Platy

21 February 2013
Dalmatian Platy
This young female Dalmatian Platy is one of our fish and was photographed in one of our beautiful aquariums by one of us. This female has a rare and unique pattern of jet black spots on a bright white background.

Right now we have both male and female Dalmatians and many other color varieties of Platies available.

Arrowhead Bufferfish

21 February 2013
Arrowhead Puffer
We import this Pufferfish species from Viet Nam, where they are collected in the wild from the Mekong River Basin. Look at the dark arrowhead marking on the top of this fish. Isn't that too amazingly cool?

Puffers seem to be very smart. This fish species grows to be about 4.5" long, which for us is a very nice aquarium size ... not too big ... and not too small. Arrowhead Puffers have been spawned in aquariums.

Shipping Charges

You pay $33.25 to ship any size order. This includes the cost for the special insulated carton, packing the fish, and we prepay the delivery company.

You pay for the fish you want at the prices shown on our Price List plus one charge of $33.25 for shipping one order with as many fish as you order to one address.
FREE SHIPPING on LIVE ORDERS over $139.00
There's always an additional charge of $20.00 for shipments to Alaska and Hawaii. If you request delivery on Saturday, there's an additional charge of $15.00.
We try our best to keep shipping charges down, but we want to maximize the safety of the fish that are shipped, because we love them a lot. So we ship using "Overnight". The boxes leave here late in the afternoon and almost always arrive before noon the next day, and that's very safe for the fish.
Long ago a very nice fellow ordered one Ghost Shrimp for much less than $1.00 and the shipping charges were much, much more than that for one small box. Before shipping, we called him, and he said he was perfectly happy with the charges!
We were amazed and ended up sending him two extra free shrimps. He called back a couple of days later to thank us, and even said that it's much better watching three shrimps interact than just having one.
About a week or two later he order hundreds of fish. In fact his order required three or four large boxes! He was charged the same shipping charges.
So ... one shrimp or hundreds of fish the shipping charges are usually the same ... except we now temporarily offer ...

5 highly recommended products for aquariums with tropical fish

 About our Fish Photographs ...
Almost all the photographs and videos, shown on this web site, were taken by us in our aquariums of our fish. Compare the healthy, beautiful, energetic fish in our beautiful aquariums to the fish in our competitors pictures. Their fish often look thin with clamped fins and poor color.
We buy the highest quality fish, produced by the best fish farms or caught by the best collectors of wild fish, then we take incredibly good care of our fish in our beautiful aquariums. If you compare the pictures on this site to our competitors pictures, you can instantly see, our fish and aquariums are better!  ;^ }
Will the fish you get from us look like the fish in our pictures? No! This is similar to buying kittens and puppies that will change as they grow to become cats and dogs. We stock and ship fish that are the ideal size to sell. Not so small that they will not do well when shipped. Yet not so big that they have become much more expensive. The fish in almost all of our pictures were young fish like the ones we have for sale that we raised up, and you can too!
