Neon Tetra

19 May 2015
Neon Tetras
This is the most popular fish species in the history of Tropical Fish. Some say they're not hardy, but that's far from the truth. The ones in our aquariums are very very hardy with exceptional coloration. The one in the picture, just above, eats premium flake foods several times each day.

Neon Tetras are available just about everywhere that Tropical Fish are sold, but these Neons are premium fish that have been given exceptionally good care and fed lots of premium flake food. It makes a difference!  ;^ }

Electric Blue Ram Cichlid

18 May 2015
Electric Blue Ram
Aquarists have kept and loved Rams for a long time, but this variety is NEW! Their scientific name is Mikrogeophagus ramirezi, which has been shortened to Ram Cichlid. Their ancestors lived in pools on the savannah in northern South America. This is a dazzling new color variety, which grows to be about 2.5" long and is highly recommended as an aquarium fish.

Crystal Barb Male

18 May 2015
Male Red Crystal Barb
This is one of our favorite aquarium fish !! Mature males, like the one shown above, are ... well really incredible!! This one lives in DrTom's 29-gallon aquarium, where this picture was taken.

Here at AquariumFish.net we don't have any males like this one to ship to you right now, but you can raise them up just like DrTom did.

Siamese Algae Eater

Siamese Algae Eater

18 May 2015
Algae Eaters
The fish shown above is called a Siamese Algae Eater, and it's a wonderful aquarium fish that eats lots of algae. There's another fish called the Chinese Algae Eater that doesn't eat much algae and is not a good aquarium fish.

Just a few years ago Siamese Algae Eaters were very rare in aquariums, then our guys, here at AquariumFish.net, really figured out how to ship them safely, and now it's not so rare in aquariums.

Besides eating lots of algae this species loves to eat premium fish food flakes and pellets.  ;^}

Clown Afra Cobue

17 May 2015
Clown Afra Cobue
This is a very nice Mbuna species, whose ancestors lived among the rock along the shores of Lake Malawi in East Africa.

Afras are small Mbunas that grow to a maximum of about 4" long. Usually they're more aggressive than other Mbunas.

This particular color variation is from Cobue on the Mozambique coast near Likoma Island, and it is one of the prettiest variations.

Pike Cichlid

17 May 2015
Pike Cichlid
These We know this is obviously a Pike Cichlid, but we don't know the exact species name.

Various Pike Cichlids live in a wide range of South America from the Andes Mountains to the Atlantic Ocean and from the Orinoco in the north to parts of Argentina in the south.

The are called Pikes because they resemble the so-called true Pikes of the northern hemisphere, but they are not related to the true Pikes.

Both groups of Pikes are predators and eat smaller fish, insects, and other small living animals. But they do very well on a diet of premium foods.

Chewere Elongatus

17 May 2015
Chewere Elongatus
This is another very pretty Mbuna Cichlid from Lake Malawi. This one is young and only about 2" long and not showing full colors yet. Soon it will darken with richer colors and become much nicer.

By the way this fish's ancestors lived on a small patch of rocks named Chewere in Lake Malawi. Chewere is on the northwest coast near Nchewere, which is located in Karonga District of Malawi.

Gold Severum Cichlid

16 May 2015
Gold Severum Cichlid
The Gold Severum is a Cichlid, which is the name of a big family of fish that also includes Angelfish and Oscars. Like Angelfish, Severums are a bit timid and not aggressive like Oscars.

Gold Severums are beautiful fish that can grow to be about 8" long and eventually need to live in a big aquarium with at least 70-gallons of water.

This fish greatly benefits from premium foods. It likes to eat both premium flakes and premium pellets, and premium foods will greatly enhance the intensity of the gold with red flecks.

The Gold Severums that we have in stock right now are exceptionally nice and highly recommended.  ;^ }

Click here to read more details about where we ship.

Shipping Charges

You pay shipping to ship any size order. This includes the cost for the special insulated carton, packing the fish, and we prepay the delivery company.

  You pay for the fish you want at the prices shown on our Price List plus one charge of shipping for shipping one order with as many fish as you order to one address.
  FREE SHIPPING on LIVE ORDERS over $169.99
There's always an additional charge of $20.00 for shipments to Alaska and Hawaii. If you request delivery on Saturday, there's an additional charge of $16.00.
We try our best to keep shipping charges down, but we want to maximize the safety of the fish that are shipped, because we love them a lot. So we ship using "Overnight". The boxes leave here late in the afternoon and almost always arrive before noon the next day, and that's very safe for the fish.
Long ago a very nice fellow ordered one Ghost Shrimp for much less than $1.00 and the shipping charges were much, much more than that for one small box. Before shipping, we called him, and he said he was perfectly happy with the charges!
We were amazed and ended up sending him two extra free shrimps. He called back a couple of days later to thank us, and even said that it's much better watching three shrimps interact than just having one.
About a week or two later he order hundreds of fish. In fact his order required three or four large boxes! He was charged the same shipping charges.
So ... one shrimp or hundreds of fish the shipping charges are usually the same ... except we now temporarily offer ...
